Position: Sales and Design Associate

Scope of the position:

Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the design, estimation, sales and project follow-through on residential and commercial contracts. Working with other team members and Cedar Ridge processes, the position will appeal to someone who is looking for a role that requires a talent for detail and organization combined with excellent people skills and creativity.

Critical competencies:
•Enjoy sales and possess exceptional customer service values and skills.
•Thoroughness and accuracy in design and record keeping
•Must have CAD experience – ideally Cabinet Vision or 20/20.
•Production experience is helpful. Preference given to those with wood industry and cabinet building technique knowledge as our prime focus is custom projects.

•Initiative and follow-up to take project from start to finish.
•Problem solving ability.
•Driver’s licence and vehicle.
•Knowledge of current designs, materials and trends, resulting in Innovative and creative designs that are unique but functional.

Key areas of responsibility:
•Initiating and responding to sales opportunities
•Consulting with client in all aspects of design
•Using CabinetVision CAD program to create design drawings and prepare proposals
•Finalizing customer design, pricing and sales process
•Maintaining customer communication and scheduling of customer choices decision deadlines
•Complete internal project documentation and final design specifications for Project
Co-ordination/Purchaser
•Monitoring the project until final completion to ensure total customer satisfaction
•Staying current with new trends and finishes.
Location: To be based in Ottawa approx. 3 – 4 days/week and Maxville, Ontario, approx. 1 – 2 days/week depending on customer needs.

Hours: Monday – Friday: 8 am to 4:30 pm, occasionally evening or Saturday work based on customer needs

Compensation: To be determined, commensurate with experience, plus commission.

SPRAY FINISHER REQUIRED

Cedar Ridge Designs, a custom cabinet/millwork manufacturer located in Maxville, Ontario, has a position available for an enthusiastic and experienced Finisher for spray painting and staining cabinets.

Permanent, full-time. 2 years or more millwork spray booth experience preferred. Preference will be given to those applicants with the requested experience, however, we are also willing to train an individual who shows spray finishing aptitude.

Hourly wage is negotiable and will be based on experience and qualifications.

Essential requirements:

– Prepare paint booth equipment

– Mix paint and components and match colors

– Use spray guns to apply primer, paint, lacquer or other coatings to cabinetry

– Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards and specifications are met

– Review work instructions, procedures and checklists and ensure that materials and equipment

needed for  production are ready and the work area is prepared

– Sand unfinished cabinets using hand and power tools

Position: Kitchen Cabinet-Millwork Service Technician/Installer

Job description:

•Troubleshooting abilities (know how to problem solve with cabinetry)
•Install back ordered items and projects
•Install trims and mouldings
•Do final inspections and adjustments on hinges drawers, etc.
•Fast, efficient and professional conduct on job sites, including cleanliness and eye to detail
•Perform Quality Control inspections
•Maintain a safe working environment
•Read and interpret drawings for install
•Submit daily Progress Reports and Timesheets
•Work within time lines given
•Work professionally with client’s complaints and aim for customer satisfaction
•Discuss with Project Manager about site and understand scope of project

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Cedar Ridge is seeking an Installer’s Helper for our Custom Millwork and Cabinetry. We have a proven track record providing Custom Millwork throughout Eastern Ontario for many years, and continue to grow.

This is a permanent, full-time position. Applicant will work with our Installer under his supervision and direction to assist him onsite with delivery, setup and installation. This position offers a growth opportunity, as the successful applicant will eventually advance to working independently on job sites.

Applicant must be energetic, willing to learn and have 1 year shop or woodworking experience. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required. Cedar Ridge Designs Inc. provides a benefit package.
